Information for new and potential stall holders

KERIKERI MARKET

The Bay of Islands Farmers’ Market in Kerikeri is held at 10 Hobson Ave, in the Post Office Carpark, every Sunday, year-round, from 8.30am-12pm. Most stall holders arrive at around 7.30/7.45am to set up their stalls. There is usually someone there from 7am.

PAIHIA MARKET

PLEASE NOTE: The Paihia Market is currently out of season, which runs from October (in the week before Labour Weekend) to April (the week before Easter). When the market is off-season some stallholders still continue trading on the Village Green, however there are no musicians, tables or chairs. The stall fee is reduced to $10 during this period, only to cover the lease of the space.
The Bay of Islands Farmers’ Market in Paihia is held at 60 Marsden Rd, on the Village Green, on Thursdays, from October-April, from 10.00am-1.30pm. Most stallholders arrive at around 9.15/9.30am to set up their stalls. There is usually someone there from 9am.
The entrance to the Village Green is located opposite Salt Air – the helicopter operator – where a bench seat swings open that needs to be unlocked.
On days when a large cruise ship is in port, we share the Green with the Focus Paihia Arts and Crafts market, not in our usual positions, but to the side.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Stall fees are $20 per market, paid in cash on the day of the market. Someone will come and collect the stall fee from you during the course of the market. The stall fee covers paying musicians, leases, and additional expenses for the upkeep and promotion of the market.
  • Power is available at both sites. At the Kerikeri Market power is an additional fee of $5.
  • As we are an incorporated society, stallholders of the Bay of Islands Farmers’ Markets need to become members of The Bay of Islands Food Group Inc. This involves the signing of a contract stating that you agree- and will adhere to, our Health & Safety guidelines, Stallholder Agreement and Constitution (you can view these below), and pay an annual $25 membership fee. Our AGM is usually held in August, and paid members have the right to vote on matters arising at the meeting. We allow new stall holders a period of a few weeks to decide whether our market is a good fit for them and their products before you have to sign the contract.
  • Sites are 3 x 7m, space for a vehicle and a gazebo. If you require a larger space the fees are as follows: 3 x 7m – $20, 6 x 7m – $30, 9 x 7m – $35.

If you have further questions do not hesitate to contact us via email info@boifm.co.nz, or our Facebook page.
